What are your plans for after high school?
After high school I will be attending University of Massachusetts Amherst. My goal is to double major for my undergraduate and stay there to get my masters at Isenberg, where I have already been accepted. For my double majors I am looking at pursuing sports management with a photography focus and film studies with a screenwriting focus. Do you plan to continue making art in the future? If so, in what way(s)? My main form of art form continuation will be my sport photography that I have already begun here at Whitman Hanson. I hope to also continue with other forms of photography that I do, like portraits and landscapes. On the side I’m sure I will also continue painting and drawing for relaxation. As I grow up I hope to never have to give up any form of art. How has involvement in the arts helped shape your past 4 years? In the past few years I have been able to utilize the arts to learn that what I wish to do with my life is photography. I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given to explore sports photography because I am now pursuing it as a career. The arts resources here at the high school have also given me the chance to grow in other art forms (like trying out ceramics) and growing more skilled at what I’m already good at (drawing). Final thoughts: Being an artist is huge part of who I am; it always has been, always will be. I am grateful for the skills I have been granted and what I have learned throughout the years that have refined my talents. |

What are your plans for after high school?
After high school, I plan on going to Maine College of Art & Design. I'm hoping to major in illustration and/or game art. Do you plan to continue making art in the future? If so, in what way(s)? I definitely plan on continuing to make art! My goal is to pursue it as a career focusing on character designs and background designs for games or stories, as well as being able to make art for myself or friends. How has involvement in the arts helped shape your past 4 years? The past four years have been... wild. Getting involved with the arts especially at Whitman-Hanson has helped me meet new people and make new friends, as well as getting closer to people I already knew. The art classes I have taken both at WH and out of, have helped me improve immensely in both how I create, and what I create. Taking Art Foundations all the way back in freshman year might have been one of the best things I could have done for myself. Final thoughts: Art has and will always be a major part of my life. If you have a desire to create something, go do it! Have fun with what you create! You just might surprise yourself! :) |
